How to Heal Your Dry Skin Naturally

Updated: Apr 11

Cold winter weather can be very rough for your skin and cause dry, cracked, bleeding skin. For people suffering from eczema and psoriasis, the winter months can make the skin that much worse.

The good news is that there are things you can do to help heal your skin:

Essential Fatty acids: it is very important to hydrate the skin from the inside out. Taking a good quality liquid Omega 3 fatty acid daily can help to do that.

Natural soaps: get rid of any harsh liquid/bar soap that you are using for your hands and body and switch to a natural soap that is chemical-free. Many natural soaps contain nourishing ingredients such as vitamin E, aloe, and calendula, all of which help hydrate the skin. Make the switch at home and at work!

Olive oil in the bath: water can be very drying for the skin in the winter. Indulge in bathing instead of a shower if possible and add a very small amount of olive oil to your bath water. It will soak up in the skin and make the skin wonderfully soft after a bath. CAUTION: The oil will make the tub very slippery so clean well when done!!

Homeopathic remedies: there are many remedies that can be used to help heal your skin. Homeopathic remedies are prescribed based on individual symptoms. Once the proper remedy is chosen, the healing can be miraculous.
